KITCHEN USES FOR THE FILLET KINGŪ PRODUCTS
"My Fillet KingŪ is my only serious fishing tool that follows me home" is a quote we hear time and time again during our show season.
We state on the label that it is "for people who catch fish and for those that do not" for a very good reason. It is absolutely true.
The fact is that the concept of a gripping surface and mess collection area on a kitchen board works as well as it does in filleting pan fish.
We hear all the time of it being brought home from a show and confiscated for kitchen use and with good reason. To our delight we sell another board on the web site or at the next show to the same buyer because "my wife won't let me take it out of the kitchen". Our kitchen use sales at shows is becoming a big enough part of our business that we now offer a kitchen model called the "Kitchen Corral". It is identical except for the name stamped on the neck of the product. We offer it to select kitchen speciality stores.
I know what you are thinking "Who would use a board designed for fish cleaning in the kitchen?" The answer is lots and lots of folks because of three reasons:
1. The material is not kitchen board stock, it is high impact polystyrene and does not hold odors because it is much harder than ordinary kitchen boards and is not prone to cuts to the surface during normal use. It is dishwasher safe (top element) and is sanitized during the process to assure it is hygienic and odorless for kitchen use.
2. The product collects its own mess and acts as a very effective barrier between the counter top and the kitchen floor for both crumbs and liquids. Any product that helps the kitchen floor stay clean is worth its weight in gold in the kitchen.
3. The product has so many uses that are not addressed by any kitchen board available on the market that it is a multi-tool by any standard of measure.
